1. Overview

Weight Cheque operates in two ways:

• Website: A content and eCommerce site for recipes, articles, and one-time eBook purchases. The website does not require you to create an account.
• Android app: A subscription-based service with user accounts, personalized meal plans, nutrition tracking, and coaching features.

Because the website and app collect different types of information, each section below indicates which service it applies to.

2. Information we collect on the website

When you browse https://weightcheque.com, we may collect:

• Newsletter email address if you choose to subscribe to updates
• Checkout email address and transaction reference details when you buy an eBook through Paystack
• Usage and performance data such as pages viewed, device type, browser type, and general analytics through tools like Vercel Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights, and Google Analytics (when enabled)
• Advertising data through Google AdSense, which may use cookies or similar technologies on ad-enabled pages
• Cookies and local storage for essential functions such as theme preferences

We do not require website visitors to create an account, and we do not collect app-style profile or health information through the website.

Website payments

eBook purchases on the website are one-time transactions processed by Paystack. Paystack handles payment card details according to its own privacy policy. We do not store full credit or debit card numbers on our servers.

3. Information we collect in the Android app

When you create and use a Weight Cheque app account, we may collect:

• Name, email address, and profile information you provide
• Account credentials managed through our Express.js backend API
• Personalized meal plans prepared or reviewed by a nutritionist
• Food logs, hydration records, weight entries, and related progress data
• Subscription status, plan type, and billing period information
• Device type, app version, crash logs, and usage analytics
• Push notification tokens if you enable notifications

App authentication

The Android app uses our own backend authentication service. It does not use Firebase Authentication.

App subscriptions and payments

App subscriptions may be processed through Google Play Billing and/or Paystack, depending on the purchase flow. Payment providers process payment details on our behalf. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.

4. How we use information

• Provide recipes, articles, and website content
• Process one-time eBook purchases and deliver access after payment
• Send newsletters or marketing emails where you have opted in
• Create and manage app accounts and subscriptions
• Deliver personalized meal plans and nutrition tracking features
• Send service-related communications and optional push notifications
• Improve, secure, and troubleshoot our services
• Comply with legal obligations

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate our website and app, including hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics, and content management providers, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Nutrition professionals involved in preparing or supporting your app meal plan may access relevant account and health-related information where applicable.

6. Data retention and security

We retain information only for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We use HTTPS, access controls, and other safeguards designed to protect your data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

7. Your rights and account deletion

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing.

Android app account deletion

App users can delete their account in the app under Profile → Settings → Delete Account, or by following the instructions on our Account Deletion page.

Website requests

For newsletter removal, use the unsubscribe link in our emails or contact info@weightcheque.com. Website eBook purchases are tied to the email used at checkout; contact us if you need help with purchase records.

8. Children's privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information and we will take steps to delete it.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
